Why we showed up
Across the Indian Ocean rim and Sub-Saharan Africa, family-owned corporations are the engines of economic life. They operate ports, build infrastructure, run manufacturing plants, and feed supply chains that connect continents. They employ millions and sustain communities.
Here's the problem: the global consulting industry largely ignores them. The frameworks designed for Fortune 500 companies in New York don't translate to the realities of Dar es Salaam, Antananarivo, or Port Louis. The governance structures, the family dynamics, the regulatory environments — they demand a different kind of partner.
So we built one. Mangrove brings rigorous, world-class consulting capability — but rooted in deep understanding of the markets, cultures, and family structures we serve. No fly-in, fly-out. No one-size-fits-all. Just smart people who actually understand your context.
Our Name
Why “Mangrove”?
The mangrove tree is one of nature's absolute units. It thrives at the boundary between land and sea — in conditions that would wreck most species. Its tangled root systems stabilize coastlines, shelter marine life, and create entire ecosystems from scratch.
That's the vibe. We operate at the intersection of worlds — tradition and innovation, local knowledge and global best practice, family legacy and future ambition. Messy territory? Absolutely. But that's exactly where we do our best work.
Our roots run deep into the communities we serve. Our reach extends across oceans. And like the mangrove's network of roots, we believe the strongest foundations are built through connection — not isolation. (Also, it just sounds cool.)
